On the occasion of Vietnam Review of Northeast Asian Studies’ 20th anniversary, the article overviews the review development from 1995 until now through three significant periods: The early period, it was named Japan Studies Review (1995 - 2001); The middle period, it was called the Review of Japanese and Northeast Asian Studies (2001- 2006); The third period, it has been referred as Vietnam Review of Northeast Asian Studies (2006-2015). Along with evaluating the published works in the past 20 years in terms of countries’ background, field of research, collaborators, the article highlights some of the Review main activity directions in the coming time.
