The past twenty years have seen the Review managed many challenges, but under the leadership of the relevant authorities (first of all Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), the contributions of collaborators, domestic and abroad readers, Vietnam Review of Northeast Asian Studies has continuously developed. Initially, the Review issued 4 volumes a year, then rose to 6 ones, 10 ones and today it publishes monthly. In the early period, it just introduced the study on Japan, and then expanded to Korean studies, and now the Review publishes studies on Northeast Asian countries and territories, including Japan, South Korea, North Korea, China, Mongolia, Taiwan, etc. The collaborators of the Review have constantly been expanded: initially, writers were mainly from the Institute for Northeast Asian Studies; today, the Review has a large collaboration of researchers from all parts of the country, including collaborators from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, etc.

Vietnam Review of Northeast Asian Studies today has really become a forum for social sciences on Northeast Asian countries and territories in Vietnam and the world.
