Vietnam and Korea have enjoyed long relationship of history and culture. In the medieval, both countries were deeply influenced by Confucianism, so the status of women in society Vietnam and Korea also had a certain relationship. This article explores the similarities and differences of women status in Vietnam and Korea in the 15^th century by investigating the Early Le dynasty’s Hong Duc Code (1428-1527) in Vietnam and Korean dynasty’s Six Codes of Governance (1392-1910). Based on the findings, the article tried to reveal Vietnamese women legal status in 15^th century in comparison to Korean woman at the same time for a deeper understanding of the relationship between Vietnamese and Korean women in history.
